Saving Up For A Brighter Future
Nestor and Razel Gicaraya are the first to admit that they are not perfect parents. But the story of their commitment to finding a way to give their child a brighter future speaks volumes about the kind of “Papa” and “Mama” they are.
As a self-made man who struggled with several jobs to put himself through school and become a teacher, Nestor Gicaraya knows you can’t put a price on education.
He and his wife Razel, also a Math teacher, were still financially supporting their respective families when their first child Gizel Mae was born. With several mouths to feed plus a newborn baby, providing for their family was definitely not easy.
However, they knew they had to start planning for Gizel Mae’s future. “I am lucky to have a wife who supported me and was right beside me every step of the way. But if you are a single parent, do not worry. Pray! And plan. A bright future isn’t made overnight. You have to plan ahead. And prepare for it.”
